Thomas Tuchel Handed Two-Year Chelsea FC Contract Extension After Champions League Triumph

After delivering Chelsea a Champions League glory in Porto, German manager, Thomas Tuchel has signed a two-year contract extension at Chelsea after he was initially handed an 18-month deal at Stamford Bridge.

Back in January, Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard at Stamford Bridge in January after the former Chelsea midfielder was ushered through the exits as a former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain boss was brought in.

Aside the Champions League title, Tuchel also guided Chelsea to a top-four finish in the Premier League and they reached the FA Cup Final, where they lost to Leicester at Wembley.

Speaking on his contract renewal, a deal until 2023, Tuchel said “I cannot imagine a better occasion for a contract renewal,” he added “I am grateful for the experience and very happy to stay part of the Chelsea family.”

He said “there is far more to come and we are looking forward to our next steps with ambition and much anticipation.”
