Two Lebanese officials have confirmed Lebanon and Israel are expected to resume U.S.-mediated talks next week on their disputed Mediterranean Sea border.

Negotiations between these former rivals, Lebanon and Israel, were launched in October to try resolving the dispute, which has held up hydrocarbon exploration in the potentially gas-rich area.

Gaza’s ministry of health has launched an appeal for help as it struggles to respond to the large numbers of injured persons seeking hospital treatment across the territory.

US army general, Mark Milley warned on Monday of potential destabilization beyond the Gaza Strip if the violence continued.
