Minister of state for health, Dr. Olorunnimbe Mamora has called out Nigerians who are still denying the existence of COVID-19.

At Tuesday’s briefing by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19, Mamora said the denial that the disease exists makes a mockery of those who have lost their lives to the disease.

He also said such attitude is “an eloquent disservice” to frontline health workers whose brows continue to get beaten and bruised.”

Mamora called on citizens to take primary responsibility for their health as individuals.

He disclosed that the federal government is working hard to make oxygen available on a short-term basis through collaboration with the private sector coalition against COVID-19, CaCOVID.

In some parts of Oyo State, properties belonging to Fulani herdsmen have been burned because of tensions arising from opposing actions by the governor and a youth leader in the state.

Governor Seyi Makinde says the quit notice issued to the herdsmen in Igangan, Ibarapa local government area of the state by youth leader, Sunday Adeyemo, was illegal.  Adeyemo says the herdsmen are responsible for insecurity, kidnappings and other forms of violence in the area, and they should go.
