The Police says it is ready to professionally suppress any EndSARS protests at designated locations in Lagos today, Monday.
President Muhammadu Buhari also warned that any act of hooliganism that takes place under the guise of lawful and peaceful protests will be dealt with decisively.
The president gave the warning today as EndSARS protests resume across the country.
The streets of Lagos, Oshogbo and the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja have seen some youths demonstrating to continue their demand to end police brutality.
President Buhari warns that arson and killings that marked the last episode would not be tolerated this time. He calls for peace and stability to be maintained.
Police public relations officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said in a statement on Sunday, Lagos State is still recuperating from the wounds it suffered during the October EndSARS disturbances, and the police and other agencies will not stand by while another disruption happens. He warns, “any unlawful gathering, procession or protest will be suppressed professionally in accordance with the provisions of the law.”
