FIFA Clears Kevin Akpoguma For Nigeria

Nigeria Football Federation president, Amaju Pinnick has announced on his official Twitter handle that world football governing body, FIFA, has given a go-ahead to 25 year-old Hoffenheim defender, Kevin Akpoguma’s application to switch international allegiance from Germany to Nigeria.

Akpoguma has a Nigerian father and a German mother. He signified interest in playing for the super eagles two years ago.

Akpoguma represented Germany in the U-16 level to U-21, and captained the German U-20 side at the 2015 U-20 World Cup in New Zealand, helping the Europeans beat Nigeria’s U-20 side 1-0 in the round of 16.

Lewis Hamilton now holds the record for the most Grand Prix wins with his 92nd success in Formula One.

Hamilton has become the driver with the most race wins in history at the Portuguese Grand Prix.

Two weeks after equalling the huge haul of 91 wins set by Michael Schumacher in 2006, Hamilton now holds the prestigious record outright.

Hamilton leads the drivers’ championship by 77 points with five races to go, and just 130 points left for which to play.

The date and place are now known for the world heavyweight boxing championship between Anthony Joshua and Bulgarian boxer, Kubrat Pulev.  The fight will take place in London on December the twelfth.

Cristiano Ronaldo Tests Positive For Coronavirus And Will Miss Portugal's Game Against Sweden

Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo has on Tuesday tested positive for the coronavirus.

According to the Portuguese football federation, Ronaldo will now undertake a period in quarantine after contracting COVID-19 while away on international duty

The federation stated in a statement released that “Cristiano Ronaldo was released from training with the national team after a positive test for COVID-19, so he will not face Sweden, adding that “the Portugal international is doing well, without symptoms, and in isolation.

The 35-year-old played the full 90 minutes of Portugal’s 0-0 draw with France on Sunday, winning his 167th international cap in the process.

Portugal and France lead Group 3 with seven points each after three matches.

The Portuguese star is also set to miss Juventus’ trip to Crotone in Serie A this weekend, as well as their Champions League group stage opener against Dynamo Kiev on October 20.
