World’s tennis number one, Novak Djokovic has won a record 36th masters title by beating Diego Schwartzman in the Italian Open.
The Serbian, playing in his first tournament since being disqualified from this month’s US Open, won 7-5, 6-3 in the final to get a slot in next week’s French Open.
33 year-old Djokovic drew level with Rafael Nadal last month on the all-time list of masters winners with his Western & Southern Open title.
Aston Villa And England’s Jack Grealish Pleads Guilty To Careless Driving
Aston Villa and England forward, Jack Grealish, has pleaded guilty to two charges of careless driving in connection with a crash during March’s coronavirus lockdown, six days after nationwide restrictions were imposed.
Grealish had denied two other charges of failing to stop and failing to report the incident, but the crown prosecution service offered no evidence and the charges were dismissed.
NWFL Threatens To Relegate Erring Premiership Clubs
Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) have threatened to relegate clubs that do not meet up with the registration deadline.
Three clubs, queens of Akure Sunshine, Heartland Queens of Owerri, and Dream Stars of Lagos, are yet to comply with the licensing and registration procedures for the 2020/2021 NWFL premiership season.
Only 13 premiership clubs that beat the late November deadline are set to be licensed in the on-going registration to participate in the 2020/2021 NWFL premiership season.
D’Tigers Arrive Rwanda, Undergo COVID-19 Tests
D’Tigers team members are observing a 24-hour self isolation after arriving in Rwanda’s capital, Kigali on Monday. They are there to participate in the 2021 Afrobasket qualifiers.
