CAF Postpones Club Competitions Amid Coronavirus Pandemic

Confederation of African Football has announced the postponement of all remaining matches in the continental club competitions.

Confederation of African Football officials were concerned after a spike in COVID-19 cases in Morocco.

CAF chairman Ahmad Ahmad says the decision was taken after due consultations.

Under the new schedule, Raja Casablanca will face Zamalek and Widad Casablanca will play Al-Ahly, in Morocco on October the 17th with the return matches a week later in Egypt.

The final, scheduled for early November, will take place at a venue that would be announced after the finalists are known.

Frank de Boer Replaces Ronald Koeman As Netherlands Coach

Frank de Boer has been given a two-year contract as Netherlands head coach to replace Ronald Koeman.

Frank de Boer won 112 caps and played at two world cups for the Netherlands.

Former defender de Boer, who also played for Barcelona and ajax, won a record four successive Dutch league titles as coach of ajax between 2011 and 2014.

Barcelona Agree To Sell Striker Luis Suárez To Atlético Madrid

Barcelona have agreed to let striker Luis Suarez join La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid.

The Uruguayan agreed terms on a reduced salary with atletico after a move to Juventus fell through because of passport issues.

Reports say Barcelona chairman Josep Maria Bartomeu blocked the deal because he did not wish to sell to a Spanish rival.

But, after meeting with Suarez’s representatives, the Catalan club backed down, with the striker threatening to air his grievances to the media.
