Man Utd Extend Odion Ighalo Loan Deal Until January 2021

Manchester United’s on-loan forward Odion Ighalo has been offered a two-year contract extension worth more than £400,000 per week by his parent club Shanghai Shenhua.

Shanghai were recently prepared to cash in on Ighalo who has become a fan favourite at Old Trafford since arriving on loan in January and has scored four goals in three starts that is if United could match their valuation of £15m, and a permanent switch to Old Trafford.

The Chinese side reportedly now want to reward the striker with an extended contract featuring a bumper pay rise.

The 30-year-old’s loan was set to expire on 30 May, but due to the coronavirus pandemic it will reportedly be extended by an additional month.

Ighalo’s current contract with his parent side is set to expire in 2022 and he is reportedly ‘flattered’ by the new contract offer to keep him until December 2024.

Djokovic Wins Italian Open To Claim Record 36th Masters Title

World’s tennis number one, Novak Djokovic has won a record 36th masters title by beating Diego Schwartzman in the Italian Open.

The Serbian, playing in his first tournament since being disqualified from this month’s US Open, won 7-5, 6-3 in the final to get a slot in next week’s French Open.

IPL Cricket Set To Kick Off In UAE Amid India COVID-19 Crisis

Indian premier league starts on Saturday, but the twenty20 tournament is expected to be a welcome relief to cricket fans during the coronavirus pandemic.

The short-form extravaganza normally starts in March but, along with other major international sporting events, was postponed as countries went into virus lockdowns.

It was then moved to the United Arab Emirates as cases rose in India.

All the eight teams have been in strict, bio-secure “bubbles” since landing in the UAE.

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar has been handed a two-match ban following his dismissal against Olympique Marseille last weekend.

Neymar was expelled from the match for slapping the I’OM defender on the back of the head.
