Kano Government Orders Closure Of Land Borders

Kano State governor Abdullahi Ganduje has announced that land borders and routes linking the state to other parts of the country will be closed by midnight tonight in an effort to stem the spread of coronavirus. Movements in and out of the state would be banned.

The governor said the decision was hard but absolutely necessary in order to curtail the spread of the virus.

He urged people to cooperate with health workers to ensure the state and the country is safe.

Ganduje further said people should adhere to social distancing and stay at home as advised by health workers.

Breaking: NCDC Confirms 12 New COVID-19 Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has on Wednesday announced that 12 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in the country.

The health agency said in a tweet “twelve new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Nigeria; 9 in Osun, 2 in Edo and 1 in Ekiti State As at 12:30 pm 1st April there are 151 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. Nine have been discharged with two deaths.”

This brings to 151 the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in the country with two deaths and nine have been discharged.

Coronavirus Cases Rise To 139 In Nigeria

Breaking: NCDC Confirms 12 New COVID-19 Cases

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has confirmed four new cases of coronavirus in the country, 3 in the FCT and 1 in Lagos.

This brings to 139 the number of confirmed cases in the country.  Two patients have died and nine have been discharged.

The NCDC said in a Twitter post on Tuesday night “four new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria; 3 in the FCT and 1 in Lagos,” adding that “As at 08:00 pm 31st March, there are 139 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. Nine have been discharged with two deaths.”
