Parts of Britain were shut down on Sunday as roads and railway lines were flooded by storm Dennis. Heavy rainfall and strong winds lashed large parts of the country. The met office issued a red warning for rain for parts of south wales on Sunday morning. This is the highest level of its kind.
The storm caused disruptions at Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Southend, Stansted, Heathrow and Gatwick airports over the weekend. Nearly two hundred flights were cancelled affecting at least 25,000 passengers. Rail services were also suspended in south wales and parts of England and Scotland.
British experts say storm Dennis can bring more damage to the country than storm Ciara which dumped nearly two hundred millimeters of rainfall and gusts reaching a hundred fifty-six kilometers per hour last weekend. Hundreds of homes were flooded and more than half a million persons were left without power.

23 Sailors On US Navy Aircraft Carrier Test Positive For Coronavirus
Two US officials say at least 23 sailors aboard the navy aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt have tested positive for the coronavirus.
Only three cases were reported earlier this week. As a result of the dramatic increase in the number of infected sailors, the ship has been docked on the Island of Guam, so health authorities would be able to test all five thousand sailors aboard the carrier.
Chief of naval operations, Admiral Mike Gilday said the navy takes this threat very seriously and is working quickly to identify and isolate positive cases, while preventing further spread of the virus aboard the ship. He said no sailors had been hospitalized or are seriously ill.
Gilday told reporters on Tuesday authorities don’t know if the sailors became infected with the coronavirus when the ship made a port call in Vietnam in early March.
