Coco Gauff Upsets Naomi Osaka In Third Round At Australian Open

American teenager Coco Gauff on Friday stunned defending champion Naomi Osaka with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at the Australian Open, pulling off another big upset at the year’s first Grand Slam.

The 15-year-old broke the Japanese star’s serve in the first set during their third-round match 4-3, partly thanks to three unforced errors by Osaka, and served out the opener.

Also, seven-time tennis champion, Serena Williams, is out of the Australian Open, her earliest exit from a major tournament in fourteen years.

She lost to Chinese player Wang Qiang in a stunning third-round upset.

This defeat ends the us tennis star’s bid for a record-equaling 24th grand slam title.

With this, the Portuguese extended his overall goals record in the competition to 132.

70 of his goals have now been scored in home matches which have now seen him level with long-time rival Lionel Messi for the most home goals in the competition’s history.

Naples’ Mayor Begins Process To Rename Stadium For Maradona

The football world is mourning the death of football legend Diego Maradona. Argentina’s president, Alberto Fernandez has declared three days of official mourning of Maradona who died of a heart attack on Wednesday at the age of 60.

The Gimnasia coach was hospitalized early in November after complaining of low spirits and fatigue.

Maradona began his professional career with Argentinos juniors at the age of 16.

Mayor of Naples has started a formal process to rename the San Paolo stadium for Diego Maradona.

The city operates the stadium, where Maradona led Napoli to their only two Serie A titles in 1987 and 1990.

Aston Villa And England’s Jack Grealish Pleads Guilty To Careless Driving

Aston Villa and England forward, Jack Grealish, has pleaded guilty to two charges of careless driving in connection with a crash during March’s coronavirus lockdown, six days after nationwide restrictions were imposed.

Grealish had denied two other charges of failing to stop and failing to report the incident, but the crown prosecution service offered no evidence and the charges were dismissed.
