Buhari Names Amokachi Special Assistant On Sports

Minister of sports and youth development Sunday Dare has announced on Thursday Super Eagles former striker, Daniel Amokachi’s appointment as special assistant to the president on sports.

Secretary to the federal government, Boss Mustapha, also confirmed the appointment of the forty-seven year-old.

Amokachi’s new role will see him advising the president on sports related matters

IPL Cricket Set To Kick Off In UAE Amid India COVID-19 Crisis

Indian premier league starts on Saturday, but the twenty20 tournament is expected to be a welcome relief to cricket fans during the coronavirus pandemic.

The short-form extravaganza normally starts in March but, along with other major international sporting events, was postponed as countries went into virus lockdowns.

All the eight teams have been in strict, bio-secure “bubbles” since landing in the UAE.

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar has been handed a two-match ban following his dismissal against Olympique Marseille last weekend.

Neymar was expelled from the match for slapping the I’OM defender on the back of the head.

Serbia winger, Andrija Zivkovic, scored against his former club Benfica a week after leaving them.
