President Of Bolivian Football Federation Dies After Contracting Covid-19

Bolivian Football Federation president, Cesar Salinas has died on Sunday after being hospitalized with COVID-19 earlier this month.

In a statement by some officials of the federation, his death was confirmed as they emphasized Salinas “dedication and commitment to national and international football.”

58-year-old Salinas was a director of The Strongest in La Paz, a century-old Bolivian football institution, also he had chaired the FBF since 2018. His wife, head of the same club, also tested positive for COVID-19.

In a condolence message, the interim president of Bolivia, Jeanine Anez wrote on Twitter “my condolences to the family and friends of Cesar Salinas, president of the Bolivian Football Federation. They have all my support in these hard times.”

The South American Football Confederation (Conmebol) said “the South American soccer family deeply regret the death.”

Bolivia has recorded 59,582 cases and 18,553 have recovered.  The South American country confirmed a total of 2,106 fatalities

Frank de Boer has been given a two-year contract as Netherlands head coach to replace Ronald Koeman.

Frank de Boer won 112 caps and played at two world cups for the Netherlands.

Barcelona Agree To Sell Striker Luis Suárez To Atlético Madrid

Barcelona have agreed to let striker Luis Suarez join La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid.

The Uruguayan agreed terms on a reduced salary with atletico after a move to Juventus fell through because of passport issues.

Reports say Barcelona chairman Josep Maria Bartomeu blocked the deal because he did not wish to sell to a Spanish rival.

But, after meeting with Suarez’s representatives, the Catalan club backed down, with the striker threatening to air his grievances to the media.
