20 Nigerian Women's Clubs Receive $194030 FIFA Fund

Twenty Nigerian women’s football league clubs will benefit from FIFA’s solidarity fund meant for teams who helped develop players that represented their countries at the 2019 Women’s World Cup in France.

FIFA said in a statement, one hundred ninety-four thousand dollars will be shared among the 20 eligible Nigerian teams.

Rivers Angels, FC Robo, Bayelsa Queens and Nasarawa Amazons will receive payments for releasing players for the tournament, while 17 other clubs will be paid for their role in training and developing players who featured for the Super Falcons at last year’s tournament in France.

Frank de Boer has been given a two-year contract as Netherlands head coach to replace Ronald Koeman.

Frank de Boer won 112 caps and played at two world cups for the Netherlands.

Barcelona Agree To Sell Striker Luis Suárez To Atlético Madrid

Barcelona have agreed to let striker Luis Suarez join La Liga rivals Atletico Madrid.

The Uruguayan agreed terms on a reduced salary with atletico after a move to Juventus fell through because of passport issues.

Reports say Barcelona chairman Josep Maria Bartomeu blocked the deal because he did not wish to sell to a Spanish rival.

But, after meeting with Suarez’s representatives, the Catalan club backed down, with the striker threatening to air his grievances to the media.
