Man Utd Star Odion Ighalo Offered £400k-A-Week Deal By Shanghai Shenhua

Manchester United’s on-loan forward Odion Ighalo has been offered a two-year contract extension worth more than £400,000 per week by his parent club Shanghai Shenhua.

Shanghai were recently prepared to cash in on Ighalo who has become a fan favourite at Old Trafford since arriving on loan in January and has scored four goals in three starts that is if United could match their valuation of £15m, and a permanent switch to Old Trafford.

The Chinese side reportedly now want to reward the striker with an extended contract featuring a bumper pay rise.

The 30-year-old’s loan was set to expire on 30 May, but due to the coronavirus pandemic it will reportedly be extended by an additional month.

Ighalo’s current contract with his parent side is set to expire in 2022 and he is reportedly ‘flattered’ by the new contract offer to keep him until December 2024.

2020 AFF Championship Remains In November, ACC Moved To 2021

The most important sporting event in southeast Asian football will go on as scheduled. ASEAN Football Federation (AFF) have reiterated that the 2020 AFF Championship or Suzuki Cup as it is called, will still be played in November as originally planned.

That means there won’t be any extension to the domestic season, and any postponed fixtures in the three-month period will have to be completed before that.

Meanwhile, the ASEAN Club Championship (ACC) which was originally scheduled for next month has been postponed.

Covid-19: FIFA Suggests Player Contracts And Transfer Windows Be Changed

An internal FIFA document, presented to its coronavirus working group, is suggesting current contracts for players and coaches should be extended until the end of the delayed domestic football seasons.

The confidential document also recommends allowing transfer windows to be changed in accordance with new season dates.  It also urges clubs and players to work together to find solutions to salary payments during stoppages.

The document was being discussed by members of FIFA’s working group.  Decision is expected in the coming days.

Messi, Guardiola donate €1 Million Each To Fight Coronavirus

Barcelona forward Lionel Messi and Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola have each donated one million euros towards the fight against coronavirus.

Messi’s donation will be split between hospital clinic in Barcelona and another medical centre in his home country.

Former Barcelona player and manager Guardiola made his contribution to a campaign launched by the Angel Soler Daniel Foundation and Medical College of Barcelona.
